01Your options
Folding door systems we make in Kempton Park
Every folding door is made for your exact opening. These are the choices that shape how it works and what it costs.
01
Bi-fold (concertina) doors
Panels hinge to each other and fold to one or both sides, clearing up to about 90% of the opening. The go-to for patios, braai areas and pool decks.
02
Folding-stacking systems
Panels run on a top-hung or bottom-rolling track and park neatly against the wall. Best for wide openings and restaurants that open right up in summer.
03
Everyday access door
An odd number of panels lets one leaf work as a normal hinged door, so you do not have to fold the whole set just to let the dog out.
04
Track & threshold
Choose a low-profile track for a near-flush indoor-outdoor floor, or a raised weather sill where wind-driven Highveld rain hits the door.

04Buying guide
Four things to decide before you order a folding door
Measure the brick opening
Measure width and height at three points each. Rough sizes give you a guide price; we take exact measurements on site.
Pick the panel count
Panels between 600 and 900 mm wide work best. Divide your width by about 0.75 m to find the number of panels.
Plan for security
On ground floors, pair the door with laminated glass or a folding security gate. We supply both, so they fit together.
Check the lintel
Top-hung systems need a sound lintel. If yours is weak, we recommend a bottom-rolling system instead of costly building work.

10FAQs
Folding Glass Doors FAQs
Straight answers to what Kempton Park and Johannesburg customers ask us most.
How much do folding glass doors cost in Kempton Park?
Felix Glass folding doors start from R11,900 for a 3-panel door, R14,600 for 4 panels, R17,200 for 5 panels and R21,500 for 6 or more panels, with installation from R2,200. The final price depends on size, glass, colour and site conditions and is confirmed in a free written quote.
How many panels do I need for my opening?
Divide the opening width by roughly 0.75 m. A 2.4 m opening usually takes 3 panels, a 3 m opening 4 panels and a 3.6 m opening 5 panels. We confirm the best split when we measure.
What is the difference between a bi-fold and a stacking door?
Bi-fold panels are hinged together and fold like a concertina. Stacking panels run independently on a track and park against the wall. Both clear almost the whole opening; stacking suits very wide or heavy installations.
Are aluminium folding doors secure?
Yes. Our folding doors use multi-point locks and shoot bolts, and we glaze them with toughened or laminated safety glass. For ground floors we recommend laminated glass or a matching folding security gate.
Do folding doors leak during summer storms?
Not when the right sill is chosen and the door is sealed properly. Exposed doors get a raised weather sill with drainage; low flush tracks are best kept under a covered patio.
How long does it take to make and install a folding door?
Usually about 10 to 15 working days from measure and deposit to installation, and most doors are fitted in one day.
Can you replace my old wooden or steel folding door?
Yes. We remove the old frame, prepare the opening and install a new aluminium folding door, then make good around the frame.
