Choosing a glass pivot door
Toughened glass is non-negotiable
SANS 10400-N requires safety glass in doors. Toughened glass is about four to five times stronger than ordinary glass and breaks into small blunt pieces.
Think about privacy
A clear door shows everything. A frosted band at eye level, or grey tint, keeps the light while hiding the passage.
Pivot or floor spring
A floor pivot is right for homes. A floor spring closes the door by itself and can hold it open, which shops and offices need.
Shelter matters
Frameless doors do not seal like framed ones. Use them indoors or under cover; choose framed glass where rain hits the door.
